What Is Included at No Cost

Every feature in Gamepad — Play Anywhere is free with no time limit: gyroscope aiming, all three layout presets (Standard, FPS, Racing), touchpad mode, 4-player multiplayer (up to 4 phones simultaneously), QR code connection, auto-reconnect, and all future updates.

The Windows Server software is also free. Installing it on multiple PCs costs nothing. There are no device limits, no session limits, and no expiry on any license.

Comparison with Subscription-Based Controller Apps

Several phone-to-PC controller apps charge $2–$5 per month for features like gyroscope, custom layouts, or 4-player mode. At $5/month, that is $60/year — roughly the cost of a physical Xbox Wireless Controller.

Gamepad — Play Anywhere offers all equivalent features (and gyroscope that most physical controllers lack) at zero cost. The trade-off is that as an indie project, feature updates may be slower than larger commercial apps — but for the core functionality of phone-to-controller, it is fully mature.
